Job 871 is a Gardner SDG-2 Double Disc rotary carrier grinder, rebuilt for a world-wide manufacturer in southern California.

This rebuild included electrical, lube, hydraulic, pneumatic, and coolant systems, as well as machining and rebuilding of the mechanical systems. Allen-Bradley controls and servo motors were installed, and the infeed system was upgraded to a precision servo system. The rebuild also featured the design/build of new rotary carrier plates to accept different part diameters and lengths. A custom automated load and unload system was developed and installed as well.

This was a 21 week rebuild project, with the machine placed into service the following week.
