Job 937 is the rebuild of a Cincinnati 340-20 Twin Grip Centerless grinder, rebuilt for our booth at the IMTS show.

The rebuild features an upgrade to a ball screw system on the regulating wheel infeed slide, as well as a new gearbox and servo systems to replace the old transmission design. We also added a new 2-axis CNC system, including a GE Fanuc processor system with touch screen, and Fanuc servo motors on the infeed, grind dresser system, and regulating wheel.

A high efficiency grind wheel spindle motor and frequency drive will provide constant surface speed, and custom load monitoring software interfaces with the Fanuc controller for operator safety.

Increased efficiency will come from ceramic coatings on the grinding wheel and regulating wheel spindles, plus all machine ways have been precision-ground and scraped.
